KMD will outsource service business to Aeven and T-Systems

Subject to authority approvals, KMD has chosen Aeven and T-Systems as new service providers for infrastructure services.

KMD intends to outsource its infrastructure services for midrange and mainframe to Aeven and T-Systems, respectively. That is the aim of the agreements KMD recently has signed with both companies.

“These agreements emphasize what we aim to do in KMD: To focus on our key strengths which are sector specific software and high value business services. To do so, we want to collaborate with highly specialized service providers to ensure superior service delivery for our customers. With this step, we aim to contribute even more to the development of a digital society that is resilient, adaptable, and ready for tomorrow's challenges,” says Per Johansson, CEO of KMD.

Since 2018, KMD has outsourced specific infrastructure elements. This agreement expires in June 2025, and dependent on the authority approvals Aeven and T-Systems will take over the services in the first half of 2025.

Besides outsourcing the infrastructure service business, KMD also intends to transfer five customers stand alone IT Outsourcing contracts and KMD-owned datacenters to Aeven. This is also subject to required approvals.

Statement from Aeven

“We are incredibly proud that KMD sees us as the right partner to operate the infrastructure on which they drive their customers' digital solutions. We approach this big task with humility, but also a strong conviction that this will be a good partnership, where we develop the delivery together, while we in Aeven are taking responsibility for stable and secure operation. We are very much looking forward to bringing competencies from both camps into play to the benefit of both new and current customers as well as colleagues,” says CEO of Aeven, Henrik Bodskov.

Statement from T-Systems

“We are experiencing a strong demand for mainframe services and mainframe competencies in the market. For a wide range of clients, mainframe continues to be and will remain an important platform for operating business-critical applications. That is why we are investing in our mainframe delivery capacity, as we also wish to be a strategic partner for our clients moving forward. We look forward to a good collaboration with KMD,” says Klaus Koefoed, CEO of T-Systems in Northern Europe.
